Athletics
      "I really like the sports teams at Smith Vocational. There are sports for both boys and girls every season and the coaches are really good."

Smith Vocational students participate in many athletic activities. These enrich school life, enhance personal development and increase leadership ability.

The Smith Vocational Vikings are members of the Pioneer Valley Interscholastic Athletic Conference and compete under guidelines set forth by the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association.

Athletes are reminded that they are students first and, as such, must be in good academic standing in order to participate.

There are no user fees required for any sport, thus insuring that cost does not exclude any student.

    Directions to school:

    Route 91 - take exit 18, left onto Route 5 North to center of Northampton, take a left onto Route 9 West, school is located next to Cooley Dickinson Hospital.

     
    Directions to Arcanum Field (Varsity Baseball, JV Baseball)

    Continue past school to center of Florence, take right after Florence Diner (North Maple Street) go to blinking light, field is straight across the road.

     

    Directions to JFK Middle School Field (JV Baseball)

    (continuing from directions above)

    Take a left at the blinking light; the middle school is approximately 200 yards on the right.

     

    Directions to Sheldon Field (Softball)

    From Route 91 South - take exit 18, take left at end of ramp, field located ¼ mile on the left.

    From Route 91 North - take first Northampton exit, take left at traffic light, go to Route 9, and take right, field is ¼ mile on the left.

     

    Directions to Veterans Field

    From the South - take exit 18 off I 91, bear left off exit ramp, at first traffic light take a left turn onto Main street, go straight through next traffic light (Academy of Music on left) immediately get into left lane and bear left onto Route 66 (West Street) approximately ½ mile on the left is the entrance to Veterans Field.

     
    From the North - follow same directions as above.

     

    Directions to Maines Field

    Route 9 West from center of Northampton, go to Northampton High School.  Go down hill past high school, take left onto Riverside Drive, follow Riverside Drive (it curves right about ½ mile down), Maines Field will be on your left about ½ mile after you curve right.
